2 Samuel 16:5-14 What is most important to you: circumstances, feelings, or what you know to be true? Where do you look for truth? Correct thinking (truth) will correct wrong feelings & correct behavior follows. At the heart of correct thinking is the Sovereignty of God & the authority of His Holy Word. David trusted God & the promises of God. David realized there might be something for him to hear & learn from the abuse of this man & even if it is all lies he believes God will use it in his life. How do you handle criticism? Are you willing to humble yourself to possibility there might be something to be gleaned regardless of motives coming from the one speaking? Yes it can leave you weary.
