Psalm 1:1-6
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish. ESV
Psalm 1:1-6 If you suddenly have a free moment where do your thoughts run? Why? Why don’t we delight in the Lord & in the Law of the Lord? I get why the unbeliever runs to his/her sinful desires. That person is in bondage to their sin & enjoys the darkness. Romans 3:10-18 speaks of the heart of that person but the believer has been given a new heart. We must stay in God’s Word. Romans 12:2 says that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We must hear-read-study-memorize-meditate on God’s Word & treasure it in our heart’s. Do you have a good plan as to how you will feed upon God’s Word? The end of Romans 12:2 promises that as our heart is transformed we will know God’s good-perfect-pleasing will! Let’s get after it!
