Psalm 139:1-6
1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
5 You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it. ESV
Psalm 139:1-6 Is it comforting or scary to think of someone knowing everything about you? Are we generally excited about the thought of someone having access to search all of our thoughts & actions? People are certainly protesting DOGE digging into government waste-fraud-abuse. Yet the Psalmist is excited & comforted to know God has searched his heart & knows him. God know his coming & going-his sitting & lying down-his thoughts & actions. He is fully known by God & that information is greater than he can comprehend. It is great news to someone who has believed & been made righteous by the blood of Jesus. It is terrifying for those that continue to reject God. Pray your way through this Psalm & ask God to give you understanding.
