27 And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left. 29 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, 30 save yourself, and come down from the cross!” 31 So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. 32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him. Mark 15:27-32 Have you ever been brutally mocked in public? Have you ever been a part of mocking someone else? Our current political culture & the sin of prideful people is creating an extreme toxic culture. Jesus-the Son of God-who is the definition of love-who knew no sin-has been beaten-flogged-spat on-punched & now nailed to a cross & yet people of all different backgrounds hurl insult after insult insult at the Lord of Lord’s & King of King’s. Can you even imagine what the Angel’s were thinking at this point? Jesus could have stopped it all at any point but He came to redeem lost sinners like those in the crowd-like one of the criminals on a cross beside Him! Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound that saved a mocking sinful wretch like me!
